While the stories of awakening may seem remarkable, they are not uncommon. Countless individuals share similar experiences. The purpose of Coma Whisperer is to champion medical assistance, emotional support, research, and ongoing care for people with brain injuries. Time and again, we hear of people making recoveries "against all odds." It may be time to recognize that these recoveries are not so improbable and that these individuals deserve access to treatments and support that facilitate a more compassionate and expedited recovery.
